LoadPicture / PaintPicture replacement

Good evening to the community.

I currently display JPEGs via
Set picImage = LoadPicture(...blahblah...)
PaintPicture picImage, ...
but notice that some (probably slightly corrupt or non-standard) images won't display at all while they do in eg. IRFANVIEW.

Anyone has a more robust way to display JPEGs through some ActiveX freeware or stuff?
