ActiveX UserControl problem

Im trying to create a control, which is identical to the CheckBox except the backstyle is transparent.

Ive done this by creating the checkbox (which works fine) and a label with a backstyle of 'Transparent' which displays correctly on the ActiveX design view. But when it comes to using the control on a form, the label is not being displayed. i tried setting the label backstyle to 'Opaque' and it works fine.

Anyone know a way around this?

That's an interesting anomaly. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head would be to draw the text directly on the parent control/form using GDI, but that could get ugly if it moves around at design time.
