alright. I was wondering.. this isnt really visual basic but how are half life mods made? Fox Pro? or is there an engine?? thanks..
cause i really wanna make one. also the .exe and .dll and all the
.blablabla files. can you make them up? like .abc or something?? is that possible?

Gee, I think you might find better answers if you look at some dedicated HalfLife web sites, as some might tell you how to make levels for it... That is if people are allowed to do that.
They (The game designers) would be made the mod by a special editor which only the designers would have, unless they release it to the public for usage.

Mods are custom .pak files that contain model (.mdl), sprite (.spr), sound (.wav), and level (.bsp) files amongst other things. Download PakExplorer (http://www.programfiles.com/index.asp?ID=4699) to open up one of the .pak files that comes with the game and see what it looks like.

i think you use c or c++ and something else
you could download a program that has all neccesary files and you just finish it and alter it to your needs but i do not know c++ or c well enough to do this yet but i have the sdk file to make one
and if you look for this file on the web you will find quite a few downloads for it
