Progress Bar - Transparent?

I am curious about a couple of things.

1) The standard progressbar looks like the edges around it are transparent. Well when I am using on in a form, I can see the windows/desktop whatever, behind it. How can I fix this?

2) How do I change the way the progressbar looks? Its a blue, square graphics that moves long the bar, what if I want to change the colour of it?

There are plenty of custom progress bars out there that allow you to change the properties of them. A quick Google for ".NET progress bar" should them them quickly.
