I made a good 3D game with Direct X8. Its these 2 little space ships in a death match arena. p1 controls are:

Up: Accelerate
Down: shoot
Left: Rotate Left
Right: Rotate Right

P2:

W: Accelerate
X: shoot
A: Rotate Left
D: Rotate Right

So, what do you think?

It's very nice, but unfortunately it runs very slowly. :(

So you get 4 'On Ya Mates' out of 5 for that effort. :D

Very nice. It might help you to check out a book called Game Programming with Visual Basic and DirectX. (title may not be exact, but it is one of the only two books I have seen released for VB and DX8 since DX8 was release last fall). It covers optimization techniques very well. You will have to tolerate the authors programming style though, he is a C programmer but very well versed in using the APIs with VB.

The title is Windows Game Programming with Visual Basic and DirectX. It's by Wayne s. Freeze and published by Que. :)

Yeah slow, but it's great! It actually works, which according to me, is great!

It's great!

It is slow, but it is beautiful.
I think you don't need to restore the positions of the ships when you shoot. It makes the game not so cool. But i like it! Good work!
