I am creating an asp application where the user will select a file from their local pc to upload to a web server. I want to add a button called browse that when clicked will bring up the standard choose file dialog box. Basically the same thing that hotmail uses when you add an attachment to a message.
I need this to work in both IE and Netscape. Any ideas?
Ok, I figured it how... I guess it was just too simple.
<input type="file"> doh!
This brings the next question:
When the user selects an xls file they would then click a button called upload. I need to write code that will transfer the file to the web server, would http be the best way?
Does anyone have any code samples on how to do something like this?

You'll need a server-side script. What languages are available on your server?

You can do this with COM. A great (free) example called "EZUploadLite" can be found at http://www.dougdean.com
