<Title> of a page ? HTML

You know in IE between the Back and Forward buttons, you can pull down the last 9 pages visited.

Is it not supposed to be the <Title> of the page?

On some of my pages it shows the file name, ie if the page is named Home.htm it will show Home

On other pages it shows the full url of the page.

All the pages that I created are call the same way, ie <a href="home.htm">

My IE does that only if there's no title tag. But if there's a title tag, then it seems to work. Make sure to close the title tag and to put it inside the head tags.

I triple-checked everything.

Weird thing, a few days ago there was 4 out of 10 working well, now it's a different 4 pages.

I don't get it, I haven't re-code any of the pages, and now all of them show the full URL. ??

It may depend on how you are linking to the page. If you click a
link and the URL shows in the titlebar first (due to slowness or
whatever), then the URL may show in the menu. Usually,
when you click on a link the title changes instantly, but if the
browser is slow to parse the page, it may not.

Of course, I'm not sure on this, it's only a theory.
