changing browser settings with script...

Hey guys!!
i wanted some help (preferably code) on how i can delete the default entries made in IE browser's File-Page setup -Header and Footer colums .
I know that i wud have to get access to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\PageSetup
registry setting . how do i do this using Vbscript or javascript ??

Fortunately, you can't change the registry from javascript/
vbscript. What a field day virus/trojan writers would have it you
could.

I guess that makes sense .
i should have thought of that !!!

any way that an 'honest' programmer cud atleast come to know if there ARE any entries made in the header and footer fields ,and if so pop up a msgbox asking him/her to delete them ????
cos i have clients who are printing out documents from the site and the url is also getting printed out which i dont want . i have put a comment on the site , yet some ppl arent reading it . so i want to atleast popup some expletives at these irresponsible ppl :mad: if not do the job of clearing the contents myself .

There's no way of reading or writing these values without a client side program running. An ActiveX control may or may not be a viable solution.
