Extracting EXIF from a jpg

Hi everyone. I'm trying to write a program that would extract gps coordinates from a jpg. I just started learning VB a while ago and I read this thread and a couple others. A lot of helpful stuff. I know there are functions available from VB to easily get to it but I just can't get any of it to work for me. I'm completely lost.

I tried out the code in this thread (http://www.xtremevbtalk.com/showthread.php?t=265565) plus the one from the msdn webside and they just won't work for me. I can't even declare MyInfo and Aprop. Can someone help me figure out what small detail I overlooked.

Ok, i think i figured out what my problem is. I have VB6, not VB.net and apparently they are pretty much completely different languages. I thought downloading .NET framework was all I needed to use .NET function but I guess not.

New question. Do you think I should start off new with .NET or continue with VB6? I don't have VB .NET and would like to continue using VB6. Is reading exif doable/easy?
