Now we have discovered that XP doesn't support PWS, but this is the first I have heard that winME doesn't. Robby 05-14-2002, 04:48 PM I have used in on WIn98, so there is no reason why ME does not. rich2kchan 05-15-2002, 07:01 PM see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q266456 for more details on that WINME do not support pws. Anyway, does anyone got any suggestion for a good web server that can run on win me? Rezner 05-15-2002, 08:04 PM I have PWS installed with a WinME OS and, aside from the Microsoft Transaction Service (which generates an error at install), it works great. The article at the link you provided does not say it won't work... it simply says that it is not included on the WinME CD because of the MTS problem. You can still download it, install it, and run a fully functional website (with ASP scripts) just fine. rich2kchan 05-15-2002, 08:06 PM it used to work on my comp, but after i reinstall windows a coupla days ago it wont work... Rezner 05-15-2002, 08:07 PM What version of Windows did you reinstall? The same? If it's the same version (WinME), I don't know how it would just *magically* stop working. rich2kchan 05-15-2002, 08:09 PM it is the same version... dunno y, guess it is magic Cavedog699 05-18-2002, 11:45 AM apache www.apache.org its the one the forum uses too |
