Read-only text box

does anyone know how to create a read-only textbox?
I'm tried to blur the txtbox in the onFocus handler, but it wont work if the user drag-and-drop text from other boxes into it...

Anyone got a suggestion?

There is a readonly attribute in an Input Text form element, but it
isn't supported in netscape.
<INPUT TYPE="text" NAME="mydata" READONLY>

i figure that it may be the best solution to it, although it'll only support ie4+ and netscape 6+... It's still better than blurring it.
