What MSComm Event helps us in finding that exactly our modem
connected to other person's phone line i.e. when other
party picks up the phone Or atleast when the ringing
starts at other party's phone, so that we can
show a message to the user to "pick up the phone
and talk" ?
If it is comEvCD, this event never fires eventhough
our phone is connected to other phone.[I have downloaded
NewVBTerm example from microsofte also . Even this example's
CD and RTS color on the Form never turns Red to Green.]

After connecting to Other Phone , I want to play
some message through the Application itself (some .wav file).
How I can solve this problem?

I want to make an application where I want my computer
should act as a Personal Secretary, where it is going to
answer all the call recieved through the modem automaticaly.
For eg. As soon as Some call comes, initially I want to
play some welcome message, Secondly I want to get
some input from the user i.e. in terms of number
they press, and by quering the number they pressed, I
want to play some more message from the database.
How can I go to find the solution for this problem?

Thanks in advance

1A. It's not comEvCD since you would only get a carrier signal if you were calling a modem. It sounds like you are simply calling a regular phone. Just try picking up after you finish dialing. You can detect when you finish dialing because the modem can return a status code.

1B. I'm unfamiliar with this one, but I imagine it has something to do with a telephony control.

2. Again, you are talking about a telephony application. I think there is a whole set of api calls just to handle this sort of stuff (tapi?)
