is there anything wrong and/or unprofessional about using webdings or wingdings on a website?
i want to have a small arrow on my site, so i just wanted to use webdings instead of creating an image.

I don't think so. Creative use of fonts is all very well. The only problem might appear if your users don't have the font installed...
Personally, I'd use a small GIF - the file size will be so small that the download would be negligable.

If you have a hard time creating your own, then get a screan capture program (free ware) and get a screen shot of the font. (and save it as a gif)

Why do you need to use a weird font like that??? There are all sorts off arrows in Times New Roman, Arial, and probably other common ones that I haven't checked yet...

Go to Start>>Run>>charmap. Have a look at the fonts...

Go with using a .gif like ChiefRedBull said.

You could also look for some clip art of an arrow. There are tons of free clip art on the net. :)
