The image in the left hand bar is too large. I have to scroll the fram both ways to view it. That needs fixing..

The format on the main page is fine, but the headers need to be more clearly defined. So far, all the text is the same, and is a litle hard to pick out.

On the programming main page, make the images clickable links as well as having text hyperlinks underneath. It's just a little more intuitive.

The dark blue hyperlinks are unreadable on the black background - make the blue lighter. It also helps to have a rollover color so you can tell when a link is active. Add this in the STYLE tag at the top of each page.

The large 3D pictures (very nice) should probably open in new windows, otherwise the pages scrolls again, both ways.

Lastly, the contact page - I'd have an actual page with details on it, even if it is just your email. It is more user friendly to do it this way...

Keep up the good work!! :D

ps - once again, all above content is just IMHO.

I personally think that the site isnt too bad at all, however, as a minor suggestion, u may actually want to get rid of the ads -- only work on prohosting sites.

To do so, simply make ur web page's code into the following format:

#!/usr/bin/perl

print << "EndOfPage";
ContentType: text/html

<HTML>

<HEAD>
<TITLE>Mike's Page</TITLE>
</HEAD>

<FRAMESET cols="26%,84%">
<!--dont know why this needs to be here but it does.-->
<NOFRAME>
<noframes>
</NOFRAME>
</noframes>

<FRAME SRC="index1.html" NAME="left">
<FRAME SRC="index2.html" NAME="right">

</FRAMESET>

</HTML>

EndOfPage

then save it as a pl file in the cgi-bin dir and change the file mode to 755 by following the tutorial in prohosting should lead u to the elimination of the ads!!!

That site is excellent for a first. My first site was simply a "Hello HTML" web page. :D

The only thing I would change is the frame on the left side and re-code to make it a table without scroll bars.

rich I don't fully understand what I am supposed to do with the html you gave me do I just copy and past it to a blank notepad and save it as index.pl

And where do I go for the tutorial?

The code that he gave you is written in Perl.

If you were to use that you would have to name the file anything *.cgi.

Since you are a newbie at HTML I would not mess with Perl. Then again, it is never too early to start.

Hey,

It is better then the original version of the site. For one the frame on the left is smaller.

You should consider making the frame on the left smaller because I have a scroll bar there.

Also, I like the fact that you made the banner a pop-up. :)

I like it, all of the bugs fixed. :D

But its missing somenthing. Maybe a Logo or some other graphics.

Just an IDEA. :cool:

It's getting there, keep up the good Work. :)

I *hate* the popup banners. The in page ones were much less obtrusive. Just IMHO. The menu is better- the site generally looks cleaner. :)

About the perl.. This is called CGI programming. You will need a web host that will let you run CGI scripts, and you will need a folder called "cgi-bin" (it can be called anything you want really but this is standard). Then, you upload your scripts in there. However, I don't believe that your free host will let you run your own CGI...

Prohosting, which is the free webhost he uses now, offers CGI Scripts.

But, you could always double check it.

hey its me rich again.

u dun necessarily have to use perl nor cgi if u dun want to, (although it is surely good to learn to use it) since i jus figure out another way to get rid of the ad!!! (only work if the ad is a pop-up one)

In ur html document, add on the following codes to the head tag:

<head>
...
<script language='javascript'>
function NS_NullWindow(){return(self);}
function NS_NewOpen(url,nam,atr){return(new NS_NullWindow());}
window.open=NS_NewOpen;
</script>
...
</head>

For example, in ur index page: index1.html, change it to:

<html>

<head>
<script language='javascript'>
function NS_NullWindow(){return(self);}
function NS_NewOpen(url,nam,atr){return(new NS_NullWindow());}
window.open=NS_NewOpen;
</script>
</head>

<body bgcolor="#00000" text="#FFFFFF">

<IMG SRC="pics\webmenu.jpg" width="149" height="331" border="0" alt="imagemap" USEMAP="#mymap">
<MAP name="mymap">
<AREA SHAPE="RECT" COORDS="28,89,116,122" HREF="index2.html" target="right">
<AREA SHAPE="RECT" COORDS="28,143,116,178" HREF="programing.html" target="right">
<AREA SHAPE="RECT" COORDS="28,190,116,224" HREF="3D.html" target="right">
<AREA SHAPE="RECT" COORDS="28,240,116,272" HREF="mailto:kulbak234@aol.com">
</MAP>
</body>
</html>

Tell me if u think its good, i personally think that this option is great for most visitors: ex. ChiefRedBull:D

Hi,

Just another thing I noticed, make the Frames so they can't be resized.

Just an Idea

PS: The Links look pretty good.

Sweet Site, Looks alot better.

Also, just as chris00 has mentioned, make the frame on the left smaller. In 800x600 it still has a scroll bar.

one minor suggestion:

on ur menu frame, i think it may be better to have the bottons to change according to the page the user is in, for example, u should hi-lite watever buttons that the user had clicked and stuff.

Anyway, it's not a bad start for a webpage. Keep improving :)

From your page:

Feal free to contact me with any suggestions or comments. If you find a missed spelled word let me know and I will fix it A.S.A.P.

Ironically enough, you misspelled 'misspelled'. (You also misspelled the very first word, 'feel'.) Btw, check out www.m-w.com if you are ever uncertain on spelling or definitions of words. I've found it to be a great, free resource.

Besides that though, the site looks great for one of your earliest attempts. :)
