Summing accross worksheets

Suppose I have a workbook with 5 worksheets. I want to sum the values in cell c3 for workbooks 2,3,4 & 5. Is there a formula that I can use to do this?
=SUM(Sheet2!C3:Sheet5!C3) gives me an error.

Certainly. Look up up the topic "Refer to the same cell or range on multiple sheets" in your Excel helpfile.

If the number of sheets may change, you may wish to reference 2 blank sheets, between which all the data sheets are placed - a "sheet sandwich" :)
