Uninstallations and how it affects deployed files

Hello again,

I have a couple of questions about uninstalling my application that I install using InstallShield 5.5 Pro.

Firstly, how do I offer and 'uninstall' option to the user? Currently, I am relying on the user using the Add/Remove option from the control panel.

Secondly, my application has a number of DLLs, OCXs, TLBs etc that are registered during my install. What happens to these files when I uninstall my application? Are they removed from the machine? If so, what happens if they are being used by other applications and how do I prevent this 'clash'?

Thanks

Question 1:
To provide an un-install menu option, you need to include a shortcut to the IS uninstaller program and pass your apps .isu (I think) file.

For exact details you might want to the IS help files.

Question 2:
IS should handle all of that automatically for you.
