Pivot Table Adding Columns to Selected Range

Hi,
is it possible to add a column in a sheet where the data are saved and not referred (the new column name) in a pivot table created in a different sheet?

If I try this error message is raised.

"The PivotTable field name is notvalid. To create a PivotTable report you must use data that is organized as a list with labeled columns. If you are changing the name of the PivotTable field, you must type a new name for the field."
