I have searched for this. I cant find anything that hits my questions exactly.

I have a form with MDI set to true. When you click "New" it adds a copy of form2, a dropdown to a menustrip with the name of the form as then text, close, and save as the childs. How to i add controls to the "close" and "Save" buttons? and when you just click the parent dropdown, it brings that form2 copy to the front?

thank you for your time.

If I understand you correctly, you'd like to insert controls into a menu strip's menu item. You can click the arrow at the upper right of the menu strip control.

This opens the Menu Strips Task dialog.

Click the "Edit Items..." link.

This opens the Items Collection Editor. The combobox on the upper left contains the types of controls you can add to the menu strip. Select the one you want and click Add.

Sorry, don't know the answer to the second question off the top of my head.
