Small macro (change characters)

Hello all

I desperately need some help, I have never used VB or macros before.

I need a macro that will swap xx and yy in the following type of text

xx/yy/zzzz

like a date, so with 06/25/2010, it will swap it to 25/06/2010. Then I can format it, I have thousands of cells so need a macro please!!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I'm pretty sure you will not need to use VBA here. If the date values in the cells are correct but you want to display them differently, then you can just change the format of the cell. If the date values in the cells are incorrect then you can alter them all in one go by using the text to columns tool.

Nope the format way doesnt work as my settings are UK and the date was given in USA style straight from a program so it wont recognise it when trying to format.
Need to swap the mm/dd around in mm/dd/yyyy to get it right for me :(

Okay, in that case you can use text to columns.

iv tried, doesnt work still
i have 1000's so i think a macro would be easier?! :D
