Help with combobox

I am a newbie, trying to work through a tuturial. I am trying to use a combo box to list some query examples. I then want to open new form which uses a datagrid to display the data based on the users selecitonin the combo box. Having not used a combobox before, I am not sure how to use the selection to open the new form. How do I reference the combo box selection? Any help would be great??
