Get your free SQL here....where?

Crazed Lunatic said - in effect - that it would be a good idea for me to learn SQL, in order to fetch data from an Acess (or Excel? PLease? I'd like to stick with Excel if possible) file, in order to let Perl feed the fetched data into my webpage.

OK, I've no objection to learning SQL, as long as I can download it freely, like I did Perl and Apache.

Can you get SQL that way or do I have to shell out $$$ for it?

SQL isn't a stand-alone product. It is a language that all modern
relational databases understand. In the case of Excel, it is a
matter of using the ODBC driver for making a connection. The
OLEDB ODBC provider can interpret SQL and return a recordset
from the rows in a spreadsheet. Not sure there is any way to
use this from Perl (although Perl can be used to connect to a
mySQL database, which is free and speaks SQL too).
