Dynamic PERL

I was thinking about this the other day, and it occured to me that it may be possible to make a bot for mIRC in perl, and as perl is unix based, it would then be possible to run that bot from a shell account, creating a permanent server link alive. if anyone has any information concerning this, because i am sure someone must have thought of something before me, can they please reply to this post or email me @ irish_kneecaps@hotmail.com

Yes, there are already many IRC bot clients for unix/linux. I am
sure if you do a search on Google.com, you will find them.
