Does anyone know why winsock cannot be found on most machines. It is a populare way of communicating between two computers and can be used for Chat Programs ETC. Loads of ppl have chat programs but not winsock. Ahhh

We could also ask Why the VB runtimes aren't installed with the Windows installation? Maybe for the monopolistic thing...

So many runtimes..so many version...now how one can now..which has to supplied...?? thats why its not supplied..!!

Yep there are many runtimes. But why the BASICS runtimes wich EVERY VB app need to work arent installed??

Some VB Runtimes are developed after the release of Windows so that is why they must be unable to pack! ;-)
