I'm thinking of redesigning my site freelancerworld.com. It's currently just html and cgi for the backend. Can anyone tell me what might be the benefits of intergrating ASP into my site? Are there any drawbacks? What do you think would be some good ideas that I could implement into the site?

My knowledge of ASP is very limited to that's why I thought I'd ask you.

Thanks for your help,

Ralph

a) ASP is comparatively easy to learn
b) Server space are quite cheap
c) Development Time is much lower as compared to other technologies
d) Compartively Fast and cheaper solutions.
e) Can benefit of a variety of COM components in the market

Benefits
- Server side scripting with OOD. ASP is, by far, the best for this.
- A virtually seamless transition to VBScript if you're experienced in VB

Drawbacks
- Portability: ASP runs fluidly on Microsoft webservers. You can get Chilisoft, but it just isn't the same.
