Most of us, even non-programmers, probably have DirectX 8 installed on their Windows PC. We all need it for the newest games. The question is: Do you have the DX8 SDK?

Well, i figure I don't have it since I don't know about it.
What is that?

DirectX is a bundle of low-level (fast & efficient) library functions and modules that you can add to VB.

You can download DirectX here (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.asp).
Then, you start up VB, make new EXE, go into Project - References, and you should see the DirectX Libraries in the list.

You don't need the SDK to program with DirectX. It just makes things a bit easier, that's all. But, you must have DirectX itself.

I did that but don't know what that does after you enable it. Like most lazy people, I like easier, can anyone tell me where to get this SDK?

Forget the sdk, they're too big, but I can't get the call to initialize DX right! I don't know if I have it right or not! can anyone post what they use!
