Search method

Hi everyone. i am new in visual basic and I am working on a project that has to do with databases. In my program I have a search method that gotta look in the database for the name of a person and retrieve it. Is there any search method that can allow me do this?? Thanks to everyone in advance, Your knowlege in the topic is very appreciated

you can use the SELECT statement if you don't have a recordset already open

SELECT * FROM some_table WHERE name = 'Regan'

other than that, you'll need to be more specific as to what type of data access you're using. Since ADO and DAO use slightly different methods of searching when it comes to open recordsets.
