Getting real-time data from Excel

Hi all,
I have a question regarding getting real-time data from excel spreadsheet. I have an excel workbook with one active worksheet. This worksheet will contain data that is real-time, that means the data in the cells will be updated automatically if this spreadsheet is open (the excel program is open).

May I know if there's anyway that I can get the updated data ?

Is this real-time data coming from within the Excel sheet or is it coming from an external source?

This updating is from another source that is linked to the excel spreadsheet.
