Removing the Worksheet Menu Bar

When I use the customize menus dialogue box (or VBA) to remove the Worksheet Menu Bar it disappears but then reappears after I exit the customize toolbars dialogue box. Does anyone know how to remove this menu and then restore it after the session is completed?
