Please answer simple question

I am qurious, I know my pc uses DirectX but am I understanding it right is it a programming language. I would love to learn this can anyone tell me if this is true and if so were can I buy it? Thanx in advance.

DirectX is a free download from microsoft.

I can't remember the exact location though....just do a search on their site.

I know about the free download, but that looks just like a plug in for windows. Is DirectX a language and what is the editor or were can I get it. Please help..........

DirectX is essentially a big API; that is, a collection of functions that you can call from any language, including VB. So you install DirectX on your system, set up some references to various DirectX objects, then create them and use their methods and properties.

Check the Tutors Corner, I seem to recall a DirectX tutorial there. Or search PlanetSourceCode, there are lots of tutorials there as well.
