making exe's

This is probably a silly question, but how can I exe's made in VB to be used on computers without the VB virtual machine?
If I click "make exe" or whatever, and then run my program on another computer, I get "msvbvm60.dll missing."
I just downloaded the dll from a site, but is this going to happen on most computers? Is there anyway that I can make an exe that just runs without such things?

Use the package and deployment wizard in VB to create an installation set that will incorporate the VB runtime files.
