CD Problem

Hi,

I have created a small app that runs the set up files for the various versions of my project.

I have compiled it and it runs perfectly on my PC.

When I copy all the files to a CD Rom, I get a file not found error, when I select the version to install.

This is very strange because I am copying all the files from the run time directory, which tested perfectly. I have made sure that the shell functions work and that there are no hidden files in the runtime directory. This is a very strange error, the CD will not work either on My PC or a target machine.

Does anyone have any ideas??

Are you sure there are no hard coded paths in your setup? If you can get the file name it's looking for, that should expose the problem. There is a tool from sysinternals (FileMon I beleive is what it's called) may be of use if you can't figure out what it's looking for.

Hi,

I am sure there are no harded coded paths because I have the contents of the CD on my destop and it worked fine (the development was done in a completely different directory!!). It just seems that the problem is when I transfer it to CD. Very strange indeed

Thank you for your reply and I will check out the tool you mentioned.

Regards
