Anytime I open a form in my VB app AutoCad tries to install. I am able to cancel it, but it is annoying. It only started doing this 2 days ago, I have never had this problem with my projects. I have checked references and components and I do not see anything obvious. Any suggestions?

Sort of the same problem with me - when I try to run VB, or Word, or many other apps, it comes up with the "Windows is preparing to install from Microsoft Office SR2"... It is really annoying, because when I start VB up, it comes up at least 5 times. First - I press Cancel, it dissapears, then the second comes up, I cancel, etc... They all are the same. I can cancel them all, but it is really pestering me...

So far it has only been VB that starts the installer, opening forms, copy, run app. My event viewer does have a warning message, and it appears to be looking for something in the registry. I have a Compaq, still supported, I emailed them and they suggested a system restore.
System restore brings an error dialog that it cannot find the framedyn.dll, I do not know if it is related. If I find the solution I will let you know.

Download the patch from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
Hope it helps!

I did that yesterday afternoon, it didn't help, thanks for the recommendation though. I did try something else, when msinstaller started up it was looking for AutoCad, possibly a component. I know AutoCad has a VB interface. So when it asked for the CD I put in and let it look. It did not find the component (VB31.tmp), and it shutdown my project, but so far it has not started back up again.
