Hi all,
I am not a great VB programmer - but definatly get by well.
I am programming interfaces in Excel 2000 / Outlook 2000. On a Windows 95 machine - which also have VB 6 loaded.

When I DIM a variable as a DATABASE, or a WORKSPACE i get the error 'User-defined type not defined' and the text 'dbs as database' is highlighted.

I can not open databases in ANY of the MS Office VB apps. I know I used to, because I have dozens of modules from previous solutions.

- any Idea what files I am missing to allow me to define, open and use databases in VB in MS Office apps??

Oh yes - everything works fine in the VB6 environment!!

thanks

Hi,

I am not sure but it could be that you haven't set a reference in your VBA.

Have you tried Tools/References and checked Microsoft Access?

BlueRaja,

Nice one - it's always something simple that causes problems (or is it that I'm simple and cause problems).

Thanks a million
