Cannot register dao350.dll when installing Visual Basic 6.0

I have read every article about this and I can't seem to install VB without producing this error. My OS is XP. I have download the Jet and Mdac, I have unregistered and reregistered the dao, I have renamed the old dao35.dll and reinstalled VB and nothing changes.

Under C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO I have dao350.dll and dao360.dll.

Can someone please help me?

I had a similar problem using Microsoft Access 97. I fixed the problem by unregistering dao350.dll, copying the file to c:\winnt\system32 and then registering dao350.dll from the new location. Maybe you can try this to install VB
