Default 30 second Timeout asp.net page

i have a asp.net page that timesout after 30.00 seconds.

i have tried many many many things.

So far no luck.

So what should i do?

when running the query in Query Analyser the query does not time out. it runs for about 60 seconds.

same thing with microsoft query. does not timeout.

but if i run the query in my ASP.net page it timesout. in 30 seconds.

any help would be great!
Thank You

Welcome to XVBT!

The default command timeout is 30 seconds. At any rate, though, 60 seconds is a long time to be running - have you thought about optimizing your query?

Shaul,
Well 60 sec is a long time to run but when you are returning something as large as we are it is very helpful.
but i did find a resolution

Adding this to your VB code Behind helps

Protected Sub SqlDataSource1_Selecting(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.SqlDataSourceSelectingEventArgs) Handles SqlDataSource1.Selecting
e.Command.CommandTimeout = 5000
End Sub
