Default Need HELP with Validation Fields

How does Validation work?????

My next project utilizes validation - RequiredField, Range, RegularExpression. I have placed them on the form and linked them to the appropriate text box but do I have to do anything in coding? The reason I ask is that this is a Credit Card application which requires user input, then the user presses a Submit button. Will the Validation fields halt the execution of the code within the Submit button (how much credit a person can get)? If not how do I address that the Validation fields are all correct before initiating the function that computes Credit amount??? Thanks!!!!

Yes and no... If you have Client Side validation enabled on the controls, most of the work will happen automatically at the client. That being said, a user can easially bypass validation that is only on the client by just turning off JavaScript.

In the Code behind, you need to call the Page.IsValid() method in your functions. That will validate all of the controls. If you're using ValidationGroups, you can specify a Group as a parameter and it will check that group.

If IsValid() returns False, that means something is wrong with part of the user's Input and needs to be corrected.
