Default asp.net shopping cart in webmatrix

Hello,

RE: Database -> Browser -> Shopping cart

I hope that I've posted in the correct section. I am new to asp.net, I would like some guidance/advice if possible please. I have so far developed a access database, [in webmatric asp.net: i have: input textbox, search button, and datagrid]. When I enter text into the inputbox, it retrieves data from the database and places this into the datagrid. I am stuck at the moment on how to transfer the data displayed into datagrid to the shopping.

In the datagrid, I have a add & remove but on clicking this, this is not transferring the data into the shopping cart. I've been advised "event handler"
but I don't seem to understand this. Effectively, my shopping cart will be displayed when the user clicks on add link.

Any help or advice will be much appreciated. Thank you

No need to make an Event Handler for this, one is supplied from .NET. Make your link a LinkButton and add whatever you need it to do in the LinkButton's Click event. An easy way to create it is to drop a LinkButton on the form, double click on it in designer view, and it will take you to the code behind and generate the click event method stub for you. From there you just code in what you will need to do.
