Question Image Not Found: HTMLINPUTIMAGE CONTROL

Hi everyone,

I have added an jpeg image file under the App_code/images folder and used the following code,

<input type="image" runat="server" id="BTNIMAGE"
src="~/DSC00430_2_edited.jpg" />

While executing, the image is not found in the page.

I have tried ../DSC00430_2_edited.jpg, and "DSC00430_2_edited.jpg". But nothing works.

Please give me your valuable suggestion for the solution.

Thank You.
jmohan

The src attribute would need to be the path to the image, when you begin a path with the "~" character you are instructing asp.net to generate a path relative to the application root folder.

e.g. if your app was deployed to the URL
Code:
www.example.com/app1
then the path to the image would be calculated as
Code:
www.example.com/app1/DSC00430_2_edited.jpg
, to ensure you are generating the correct path you would need to include the App_code folder in the path.

However as the name App_Code indicates this folder is designed to hold code files (classes etc.) and isn't really the appropriate place to store things such as images or other static HTML content. I personally would create another folder off the application root to store things such as html files, images and css files.
