Exclamation winsock control

im having a problem with remotehost in winsock control.
according to the help file remotehost can be an ipaddress or dns name like ftp:// so on so on.
i have created two programs a server and client, if i set remotehost as my netbios computer name they communicate, as soon as i replace the computer name with the ipaddress of my computer i get an error in my send data sub.
The following line has an error, but it works ok using my computer name. the error i receive is 40006.

tcpClient.SendData TextSend.Text
(tcpclient is my winsock control and textsend is a text box)

Please help, or let me know if you need any more info.

If you're setting the

Winsock.RemoteHost

to your actual IP try setting it to

WInsock.RemoteHost = 127.0.0.1.

If youve tried that already then try setting the

Winsock.RemoteHostIP = 127.0.0.1

Thanks for letting me waste your time.

the problem i had was this, i had a string taking input from 4 boxes for the ipaddress, and putting in three "." , but i was loading the next form, and then unloading the first form before the code for obtaining the info, and the info was on the first form.
