I have a database which contains makes and models. The users have to be able to add new makes and models when appropriate but, as you might anticipate, the same make/model is being entered multiple times with small variations.
I've applied the usual trim, case insensitivity, multiple spaces etc but it's preventing any usable reporting based on the make/model values due to these variations.
I've changed the interface to indicate when a new make/model is being entered and would also like to display a list of similar makes/models which already exist for the user to choose from.
The problem is that Jet SQL via ADO doesn't appear to be able to perform a fuzzy enough search.
I've tried the LIKE operator with various wildcards, but it needs more.
