Default Shooting multiple projectiles at once

I was making a top view shooter and I have been trying to make it able to shoot multiple bullets at once. I have gotten it to fire one bullet, but firing again resets the first bullet. I am wondering if there is some way to use a control array to shoot the next available bullet. If not is there any other method you can recommend. Also, if it makes a difference I am using vb6.

There is a button at the top of the forum with the word Search on it (between FAQ and Quick Links). If you type bullets in that you should find the question has been answered before, but here goes again.

There is an section on arrays in this thread and in the Standard and Practices tutorial.
And of course, the ol' bullets programming example in the code library.
