heh to tell you the truth (it took a long time though) i never read any VB books.
to my point of view i think looking at examples and tutorials are the best way to learn things. But i think you cant just memorize it. to memorize it fully i always make a game with it.

Yep, Mach is right. If you already know how to do basic things in VB, then Visual Basic Programming with Direct X 8.0 is the book for you. It's pretty awesome, I must say.

"Visual Basic Game Programming with DirectX" by Harbour. Excellent book! Part of the Premier Press Game Development series.

Another good book, but not centered around games though is "Visual Basic 6 Black Book."
