Default .dll files

I hear that when extracting the .dll file when you install a program, if the user already has the .dll files, will mess up the computer. Is this true?

If so, how would I make the installer search for the .dll files?

the .dll files that I found out I need for a machine without vb installed are....
asycfilt.dll
comcat.dll
msvbvm50.dll
oleaut32.dll
olepro32.dll
stdole2.tlb

To make the installer file, I am using Inno Setup Compiler. Help is greatly appricated! I need it too!

I dont have to program the setup compiler to search for the files first? It will automatically do it for me?

Yes. Take a look at the help that comes with Inno -- there are flags you can set if you need to force it to override existing files, never overwrite, etc. Inno's help is very thorough.

What I want it to do is to only install it if it isnt already installed, if it is installed on the computer, I dont want it to overwrite it. What would the flags be for that?

Have you considered looking at the documentation?

Look in the Index tab of the help file, type in "[Files] section" (without th quotes), read that whole page. It'l explain each flag and how to use it.
