Try to reboot your PC then try it again. I have only seen those kind of errors on older PC when there system Res. are low.

But its probley not the problem.

Dear Wizzardx

Thank u for your reply.

I tried the Packaging & Dep. wizard on 3 machines Pentium 4 & 3 and Windows 2K & Windows 98 but the wizard is ending with the same error.

It look like to me I have to define some special parameters in Config/Batch file(s).

Regards

Default Package and Deployment Wizard error 28

I have exactly the same problem, and we are using Crystal Reports. Unfortunately the file that the Microsoft article tells you to go and edit, crystl32.dep, does not exist.

Neither can I find any other DEP file with the same content.

What other causes could there be?

thanks

Default Package and Deployment Wizard error 28

I have now found that crystl32.dep is a HIDDEN file, in Windows\System32, a fact that Microsoft neglect to tell you.

I can now build a package, but not deploy it. There are always files missing.

Even when I specifically, manually, include a file in the package (for example, csprintdlg.dll, which comes from the Business Objects\Common\4.0\ folder) that file is reported as missing by the installer.

Can anyone out there recommend a sure-fire way of making sure that every necessary file gets included, and installed correctly on the target machine?

thanks

Julian
