That only helps if the server and any proxies choose to honor these though. They are requests.

Lots of servers will ignore them.

Another that may help:

Code:
"If-Modified-Since: Tue, 1 Jan 1980 00:00:00 GMT"

my customers normaly has squid or some microtik brazilw squid, that kind of things.

And one of the problems, is these things caching .exe .zip, when my installer check the md5s sign it will not match because it just downloaded an old version.

So, I am happy to learn new things in this forum!.

This seems like more efficient on large network instalations, but it has a problem, to implement it, requires more administrative work than usual, like include that information in the sign (that currently it has not).

Anyway, as msinet.ocx was unstable and wasn't easy to download from some geographical areas, like in 2009 I included a "cloning" feature in the installers, the installer can be set to get the files from another installation in the LAN (setting up the temporarily shared folder address) the installer will check the sign, if it don't match it will downloads from internet, so it always is secure and installing the latest version.

And seems to be confirmed, all the problems were an outdated msinet.ocx file, yesterday I bothered some customers, they did the test, and they checked that it downloaded failess and faster as never did before. And I didn't change the code, just uploaded the msinet.ocx.

so this thread

Getting partial downloads with INET control? MSINET.OCX version 6.0.81.69 is faulty!

called "Getting partial downloads with INET control? MSINET.OCX version 6.0.81.69 is faulty!"

IS RIGHT!. Thanks a lot!.
