Question New Versions v Patches?

I now want to update the version of the exe file currently available on my website to a newer version which is slightly better. So, this is not a major change

Obviously, people who have just found my site for the first time will just download the latest version, no problem. For established users a patch may be better, I guess

But is seems to me that if you had maybe 6 versions over a year or so, the patch situation could turn into a nightmare. You would have a patch for every version to the latest - giving 15 different patches (I think - lots, anyway)

Any observations on this?

Normally I would just put a new EXE online.
A patch can be useful if new EXE is really huge, otherwise who cares if you have to download 700KB or 7MB?

Nevertheless on this page you can find a patch creator.
And another one: http://www.clickteam.com/patch-maker
