Default DX9 Wizard

Hey, how come my DX9 wizard for VB.NET only comes up with a blank screen and a teapot every time? The language they use implies that I can change settings, but it doesn't allow me to make any changes. I can only Finish, Cancel, or Help...is that right? And how do I get rid of that silly teapot?

Click on Project Settings and Direct3D Options on the left side of the wizard to display the sections for changing things.

Maybe my DirectX wizard is broken? Because this:

is all I get. Or maybe I'm broken, because I can't find any 'Project Settings' or 'Options' anywhere!

It does look like that text and those buttons are aligned around something, but there's nothing there. Any tips or suggestions?

Weird. Here's what mine looks like:

I'm not sure why yours looks so different. Even the font is different.

So I must have a damaged version of the SDK. I didn't get it from some back-alley guy, though, I downloaded it from Microsoft?!
