Default Reference problem to Microsoft.DirectX

Hey,

On this computer I am working on I cannot run any DirectX application because it cannot find the references to Microsoft.DirectX, etc.

I have attached a pic showing the problem.

I have tried reinstalling VS.NET and the DX SDK but no joy. It works fine on my other computer.

Cheers,

Pinky

Remove the references and add them back in yourself. They should be in your Windows\Microsoft.NET\Managed DirectX\<version> folder.

Thanks Machaira. I browsed to that dir and there are only *.xml files, no components.

Strange. I have tried reinstalling but that doesn't change it.

Fear not, the answer is provided thus:

I finally resolved the problem after reading a post in another forum...
Accidently the SDK-Installer does NOT unpack the required .dll which is located in this dir:

C:\DXSDK\SDKDev\Retail or C:\DXSDK\SDKDev\Debug

the name of the archive is dxnt.cab (for XP I guess)

Just unpack it to the dir mentioned by darxpan and add the needed .dlls as a reference... now everyting should work fork, well at least for me it did
