Question Adding reference to directx libraries

I am using Microsoft Visual Studio .Net Enterprise Architect (2002)

When I open the Project -> Add Reference dialog box, there isn't any of the following present...

Microsoft.DirectX
Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D
Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3DX

The type libraries are missing or there is some other problem

I got the entire SDK for dx9 just now and I am unable to open or run any of the projects in it

How can I solve this problem?

Where can I download these libraries

Is there any possiblilty of these libraries being present in my system and not showing up in the listbox?

Help me!

First of all, you have to install VS.NET first and then DX9. If you've already done that, then the files *should* be located at \Windows\Microsoft.NET\Managed DirectX\v9.00.0900\ (I guess the version number can vary, I don't think I have the newest version of the SDK).

This is the procedure I followed and I've never had any problems, however, I have heard/read about others who have done the exact same thing and still can't get it to work properly.

Knowing that the files were missing, what you said was the first thing I did

I reinstalled VS.NET and DX9

But still I have the problem

Some other suggestion could be helpful... perhaps some way of downloading the library files manually?

Thanks!

Yes the debug version is installed

I have previously worked with dx9 in vb.net

recently i had a HDD crash and now i have installed everything from the beginning

Only this time the problem is ocurring

I think that i read in some tutorial (probably from Jack Hoxley directx4vb.com) that u can download the type libraries from some microsoft url but i think it is version 8.1

how about dx9?
