Cool The best managed DirectX library

what is the best library to use with VB.net 2008?

I have been using the ordinary managed directx from Microsoft, but it seems they have stopped supporting it...

I have also checked out SlimDX...

PS. my application is not a game, more background image processing and 'tied' together with Dshow.net...

Any tips is welcome

What exactly are you using DirectX for? Perhaps you should look into WPF which is partially rendered using DirectX so you won't see quite the same performance and flickering issues as with windows forms. DirectX is mostly used to build games, whereas WPF allows you do build a rich interface quite easily since it comes with a preinstalled set of controls.

what I need is to be able to render an image and run som pixel/vertex shaders on it...
